Collins Aerospace is hiring for a Field Service Technician to support our team in Charleston, SC.

What You Will Do

  • Support the installation, maintenance, inspection, and troubleshooting of company products at customer and OEM locations
  • Perform assigned technical tasks using established procedures, work instructions, engineering drawings, and specifications
  • Assist experienced technicians with equipment installations, modifications, repairs, and service activities
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting and diagnostics of product and system issues under guidance from senior technicians or engineering personnel
  • Support preventive maintenance activities, service bulletins, and field modifications
  • Participate in system and equipment testing activities and accurately document results
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including updates to work tracking systems and daily work plans
  • Follow all company safety, quality, regulatory, and customer requirements while performing assigned duties
  • Coordinate with team members and support organizations to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks
  • Develop technical knowledge of company products, systems, and customer operations through on-the-job training and mentorship
  • Travel as required to support customer installations, service activities, and operational needs
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude, willingness to learn, and commitment to customer satisfaction
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions

Work Schedule Requirements:

  • This position supports a 24/7 customer environment. Candidates must be willing to work any assigned shift, including days, afternoons, nights, weekends, and holidays, based on business and customer needs. Flexibility to support overtime and schedule changes is required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires HS Diploma or AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
  • Technical experience in aerospace, automotive, manufacturing, maintenance, military, aviation, electronics, or a related field required
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, work instructions, and maintenance procedures required

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems preferred
  • Experience using common hand tools, measuring devices, and basic test equipment

The salary range for this role is 43,400 USD - 82,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
