Job Description
This position is for an Industrial Engineer Co-op on the Site Project Team at the Cedar Rapids, IA where you will become familiar with Collins Aerospace manufacturing objectives, along with state-of-the-art manufacturing techniques by working closely with senior engineers on automation and process improvement projects for cost reduction.
Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

- Process simulation & capacity analysis
- Process failure mode effects analysis (PFMEA)
- Data analysis and visualization
- Station loading and line balancing
- Calculate and prepare cost estimates and return on investments for proposed projects
- Develop tools that aid process improvement or address safety concerns
- Become familiar with Collins Aerospace products, lean manufacturing objectives, test philosophy, and state of the art manufacturing techniques.
- New skills or sharpen existing skills through Workday learning, LinkedIn training, and other development opportunities
- Work cohesively with others of different backgrounds and ideas
- Participate in peer to peer and leadership mentoring
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
