Collin Testing is a psychological testing practice in Asheville, NC, offering comprehensive diagnostic assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. We are now expanding our commitment to specialized, evidence-based care by launching our dedicated therapy services division. We serve a diverse client base, including many individuals who are neurodiverse (e.g., ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder).
The Opportunity: Be Our Founding Therapist
We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Psychotherapist to be the first therapist to join our clinical team and help build our new therapy division. This is a unique opportunity for an entrepreneurial-minded clinician to shape the foundation of our therapy services.
Strong preference will be given to therapists with proficiency in Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP) for adolescents and adults with OCD and other disorders, although all qualified applicants will be considered. It also offers the chance to specialize in treating OCD/anxiety while expanding skills in Parent Management Training (PMT) for parents of children with Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD).
Location: Asheville, NC. We are flexible and offer options for in-person, hybrid, or fully remote (telehealth) work within North Carolina.
Key Responsibilities
Treatment Focus
- Exposure with Response Prevention (ERP): Conduct comprehensive assessment and highly specialized, intensive ERP treatment for adolescents and adults struggling with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and related anxiety disorders.
- Parent Management Training (PMT): Provide individual or group PMT to parents seeking to increase compliance and manage challenging behaviors in children with ODD or related externalizing difficulties. We offer training and supervision in PMT if the candidate is enthusiastic about learning.
- General Psychotherapy with Interest in working with ADHD and ASD populations: Provide evidence-based individual therapy (CBT, ACT, DBT informed approaches, etc.) for adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and mood disorders.
- Effectively adapt treatment strategies and communication styles to meet the unique needs of neurodiverse clients, including those with ADHD and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).
Professional Standards & Practice Building
- Work closely with the practice owner to establish efficient clinical protocols, documentation standards, and referral pathways for the new therapy services.
- Potentially assist with hiring and training other therapists who are hired.
- Maintain timely, accurate, and ethical clinical documentation (e.g., progress notes, treatment plans).
- Participate in clinical supervision and consultation with the practice team.
- Collaborate with the established testing team to ensure seamless integration of assessment results into treatment.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field.
- Licensure: Fully Licensed or Provisionally Licensed (LPC-A, LCSW-A, LCMHC, LMFT, etc.) in the State of North Carolina to practice psychotherapy.
- ERP Expertise (Required): Documented intensive training and experience in providing ERP.
- PMT Interest (Required): Proven interest in, or existing training in, Parent Management Training (PMT) models. If not trained in PMT, you will learn Russell Barkley's Defiant Children Protocol.
- Experience: A minimum of 2 years of post-degree clinical experience preferred, but all applicants who meet the minimum qualifications for the position will be considered.
