Job Summary:
The Front Desk Receptionist in an ENT practice serves as the first point of contact for patients and plays a vital role in ensuring smooth daily operations. This position supports providers and clinical staff by managing patient flow, scheduling specialty appointments, verifying insurance, and delivering excellent patient service in a fast-paced ENT environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet ENT patients and visitors professionally and compassionately
- Answer high-volume phone calls related to ENT services (audiology, surgery, referrals, follow-ups)
- Schedule and manage appointments for ENT providers, audiology, procedures, and post-op visits
- Verify insurance eligibility, referrals, and authorizations as required for ENT services
- Collect co-pays, balances, and process payments at check-in and check-out
- Accurately enter and update patient demographics in the EMR system
- Coordinate with medical assistants, audiologists, and providers to ensure efficient patient flow
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality at all times
- Scan, file, and manage ENT-related documentation (referrals, imaging reports, surgical paperwork)
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Prior medical front desk experience preferred; ENT experience a plus
- Knowledge of insurance plans, referrals, and prior authorizations
- Strong communication, multitasking, and customer service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
- Professional demeanor with empathy toward patients experiencing hearing or ENT concerns

- Frequent patient interaction, including pediatric and adult populations
