We are searching for candidates that meet the required qualifications and experience and are able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities.


Job Summary:

Provide planning, direction, instruction, and management for the Dental Hygiene program and ensure compliance with regulatory and educational accreditation standards.


Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate strategic and academic cycle planning at the college, division, program, advisory committee and course levels, including development and maintenance of experiential and clinical affiliation agreements and clinical and experiential partnerships to augment the academic program.
  • Will teach one class per academic year. Teach courses as assigned and allowed by professional regulatory agencies.
  • Manage the dental clinic on campus and ensure federal, state and CODA standards are met.
  • Supervise day-to-day management and evaluation of the program, full-time and associate faculty and staff, facilities, and resources to accomplish safe and effective program delivery and coordination of division activities and projects.
  • Assist Academic Dean in ongoing, systematic evaluation of the division, program, curriculum, learning resources, and student learning outcomes, including production and preservation of program/student records.
  • Provide assistance with fiscal planning and management of the program and its resources.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance associated with the program's field of practice and education, including implementation of college policy and division and program procedures, compliance with the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board standards and compliance with appropriate regulatory and educational accreditation standards including production of accreditation self-study documents and reports.
  • Participate in faculty search committees and recommend to the dean full-time faculty, associate faculty and staff hires.
  • Foster positive human relations and team work among faculty, staff, and students and across all programs and college services.
  • Manage appropriate student admission, advisement, progression, graduation, certification, and licensing processes for the program.
  • Maintain accurate and complete program records including curriculum and resource evaluation and development, systematic evaluation, course evaluation, student evaluation, and accreditation documents.
  • Attend and participate in professional development activities and participate in service to the college, including college graduation.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Perform all duties to maintain all standards in accordance with College policies, procedures, and core values.

  • Knowledge of Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA) In addition, this director manages the dental clinic on campus
  • Knowledge of federal, state and CODA standards.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort

Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching, climbing and balancing, plus pushing, pulling and lifting. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.



Requirements

Master's degree from an accredited institution and three (3) years of related experience required.

Two (2) years of supervisory experience required.


Preferred

Clinical supervision and community college or university teaching desired.


DDS or DMD degree candidate will be considered if they are a licensed Dental Hygienist


Licenses and Certifications

Texas license or eligible for licensure; a copy or verification of license is required.

CPR Certification for Health Professionals by American Heart Association (Course C) or Red Cross. Recommendation: two-man and one-man CPR

Hepatitis B Vaccination
