The Software Development Manager will lead a team of software developers in designing, developing, testing and implementing software solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead and guide team development efforts towards successful project delivery.
- Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits using industry standard practices.
- Identify and encourage areas for growth and improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with other application developers, business analysts and software architects both internally and externally to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain web- and desktop-based business applications built on Microsoft technologies.
- Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards.
- Participate in peer-reviews of solution designs and related code.
- Package and support deployment of releases.
- Work with team in the migration of legacy applications to current Microsoft technologies.
- Develop, refine, and tune integrations between applications.
- Analyze and resolve technical and application problems.
- Adhere to high-quality development principles while delivering application solutions on-time.
- Research and evaluate a variety of software products.
- Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives.
- Assist in the collection and documentation of user's requirements, estimates and work plans.
- Prepare reports, manuals and other documentation on the status, operation and maintenance of applications.
- Asses opportunities for application and process improvement and prepare related documentation.
- Provide third-level support to internal business users.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field preferred.
- 8-10 years in the area of application development.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Manage and document updates within applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Display professionalism in handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
