Our Construction Engineering & Inspection team plays a hands-on vital role in inspecting, designing, rehabilitating, and constructing hundreds of highway, roadway, and bridges across the United States. Responsibilities
- Responsible for the construction inspection of bridge and/or highway construction projects including measuring and calculating quantities and documenting work with daily work reports, photos, and sketches.
- Oversee and coordinate documentation of construction inspection.
- Insures work is completed in accordance with NYSDOT specifications.
- Apply project plans, along with company policies, guidelines, standards, specifications to the work and make decisions.
- Maintain project documentation and communicate with individuals at all levels of the project.
- Coordinate activities on the project site and resolve problems related to the work.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 5 years of related construction engineering/inspection experience required.
- NICET II certification or higher; or bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
- Valid US driver's license required.
- Experience working with/for clients like NYSDOT and/or municipal clients with a technical knowledge of general and highway construction preferred.
- Prior experience working on federally-aided, transportation projects as a construction inspector preferred.
- Prior experience with Appia software and/or CEES.
- Familiarity with NYSDOT's Manual of Uniform Record Keeping (MURK).
- Team player who enjoys working collaboratively with others.
- Strong mathematics skills.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
