We are currently looking for a Safety Manager to join our Owner's Rep team in Goodyear, AZ with Data Center experience.
Responsibilities:
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Safety Manager to oversee and enforce all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations and protocols for new data center construction. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations, as well as client-specific safety standards, throughout the lifecycle of the project.
- Develop, implement, and manage the site-specific safety plan (SSSP) in accordance with OSHA, client standards, and corporate safety policies.
- Lead safety briefings, toolbox talks, and conduct site safety orientations for all new workers and contractors.
- Perform routine site inspections, audits, and hazard assessments; document findings and ensure timely corrective actions.
- Act as the primary on-site contact for all incident response, investigation, and reporting processes.
- Coordinate with construction managers, project managers engineers, and contractors to ensure all operations are performed safely and in compliance.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all safety-related documentation, including JSAs, incident logs, PPE usage, and permits.
- Oversee the safe installation and commissioning of mechanical, electrical, and IT infrastructure systems specific to data centers.
- Support compliance with environmental regulations and fire/life safety requirements for critical infrastructure.
- Facilitate periodic HSE training programs, including working at heights, lockout/tagout (LOTO), confined space entry, and electrical safety.
- Report KPIs and safety metrics to corporate leadership and the client.
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5 years of safety management experience on large-scale construction projects; data center construction experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926, NFPA, and ANSI standards.
- Relevant certifications such as CHST, CSP, or OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification.
- Experience with mission-critical facilities, including MEP systems, generators, and UPS systems is highly advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in high-paced environments and manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency in safety management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Familiarity with contractor safety management platforms (e.g., ConstructSecure, ISNetworld).
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
