Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking a Rod Person to join our growing Surveying team in Houston, TX!

Colliers Engineering & Design is looking for an ambitious Rod Person to join our innovative Survey Crew in Houston! This is your opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking team that’s redefining how we capture and interpret the world around us.

At Colliers Engineering & Design, our Survey/Geospatial group uses cutting-edge technology to deliver accurate, high-quality data from the air, the ground, and below the surface—faster and safer than ever before. You’ll work hands-on with advanced instruments and drones, gaining invaluable field experience while supporting projects that shape communities and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will assist Crew Chief in the performance of field surveys.
• Perform assignments using standard equipment, work and safety methods.
• Use Total Stations, Data Collector, GPS and other equipment to collect data.
• Upload and download all field data collections.
• May be required to drive the Survey vehicle.
• Transport and set up the instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing the job site for a survey.
• Uses appropriate safety equipment and follows established work safety policies, practices and procedures.
• Adhere to Health and Safety program and all applicable SOPs.
• Responsible for care and maintenance of the survey instruments and equipment associated with surveying land and preparing the job site for a survey.
• Assist with maintaining equipment and stocking the survey vehicle.
• Maintain, load and stock all supplies in the truck.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED is required.
• Basic knowledge of surveying practices and equipment is a plus.
• Ability to effectively operate/handle surveying equipment.
• Must be able to work in inclement weather and travel to job sites.
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required. MVR will be checked and monitored.
• Ability to read, write, and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
  
  

Requires a pre-employment drug screen and will require ongoing participation in the employer's random drug and alcohol testing program.
