Responsibilities
- Setup new projects and tasks in our accounting software.
- Verify the setup of projects in BST are in compliance with contract.
- Prepare draft invoices for Project Managers and collaborate with them to make required changes.
- Contract billing may include time & material, cost plus fixed fee, lump sum, and fixed unit terms.
- Monitor/Match expenses charged to projects with the labor charges.
- Finalize and submit invoices to clients which may include preparing additional spreadsheets, forms and/or assembling expense backup.
- Provide requested reports for Project Managers to help them manage the financial health of their projects (Requests for reports beyond the Project Accountant’s capability will be provided by a more senior staff member).
- Assist the collections department and project managers as needed to revise invoices or provide additional information to clients as needed for payment.
- Digital filing of invoices and backup.
- Perform other accounting tasks as needed.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance.
- Associate’s Degree relevant experience.
- 0-2 years experience in project billing preferred.
- Experience in the Architectural/Engineering/Construction (A/E/C) industry preferred.
- Ability to read, write and understand English for purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced knowledge in Excel.
- Prior experience with BST or similar accounting software.
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to work under pressure and within deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team.
- Ability to work overtime when required.
