Responsibilities
- Acquire knowledge and develop basic skills in traffic design.
- Apply learned techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
- Demonstrate the ability to prepare low-level complexity general traffic designs and/or technical data for completion and accuracy.
- Perform engineering calculations and create estimates.
- Assist with other project-related tasks such as maintenance of traffic, signals, permanent signing, and pavement markings.
- Exercise judgement on details of work and work under direct supervision on all aspects of tasks assigned.
- Work within MicroStation, OpenRoads, and AutoCAD Civil 3D to successfully complete projects within established budgets and deadlines.
- Interpret drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects.
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering required.
- EIT (Engineer In Training) certification preferred.
- Prior internship experience using MicroStation and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred.
- Demonstrate basic knowledge of engineering concepts, theories, principles and practices.
- Ability to read, write, and understand English for the purposes of comprehending written job-related communications and verbal instructions and interactions.
