Auto Technician Apprentice

The Collier County Sheriff's Office is looking for positive, proactive, energetic, enthusiastic individuals that support our core principles of community, safety, service to fill the position of Auto Technician Apprentice . Starting salary at $20.15 per hour.

Minimum Requirements:

• Must have a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Minimum Wonderlic score of 18.

Position Requirements:

• Knowledge of basic principles and practices of automotive mechanics.
• Knowledge of methods, tools, and materials used in automotive mechanics.
• Ability to preform a variety of repair, replacement, and maintenance tasks on automotive vehicles.
• Ability to use and care for tools used in repair work.
• Good driving record.

Examples of Duties:

• Repair and replace brake parts; change, rotate, and balance tires.
• Clean, inspect, and service shop equipment.
• Transport vehicles to and from vendors and dealerships and between various CCSO locations.
• Coordinate daily inspections of vehicles, performing general preventive maintenance, checking fluid levels, checking for damage, and ensuring vehicles are properly equipped.
• Perform minor mechanical and interior/exterior damage repairs.
• Assist in clerical, office and organizational tasks.
