In this position you will perform preventative and corrective maintenance of standby generator systems 5KW through 3200 KW, troubleshoot and diagnose emergency repair procedures of AC/DC controls and complete load bank testing following the proper procedures for testing and safety. The wage range for this role is $28 - $38/hour and is awarded based on industry knowledge and experience. In this role, you will also be responsible for:Troubleshooting and diagnosing gas and diesel industrial enginesReading and understanding wiring diagrams and schematicsProviding excellent customer service to both internal and external customersWorking in a safe manner at all times. Qualifications and SkillsRequiredMinimum of five years’ experience in the back-up generator industryHigh School DiplomaGraduation from a Diesel Engine Training ProgramPreferredCAT, Cummins, Kohler, Detroit - MTU experienceWaukesha Natural Gas Engine and Prime Power experienceKnowledge of gas and diesel industrial engine fuel systems and controlsKnowledge of automatic transfer switches and control logicPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 50lbs.Ability to stand for prolonged periods of timeAbility to remain seated for 15 minutes or more while drivingAbility to bend, squat, stand, and reach as necessaryExperience driving in various weather conditions to perform job functions, towing and backing trailers.Classification: Non-exemptWeekly Schedule: Tuesday - Saturday Standard Hours: 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. (hours may vary depending on scheduling demands). Must also be available for the on-call rotation. Occasional overnight or extended travel.
