MTSS Support Specialist
Reports To: Director of Student Services
Employee Type: Full-Time, School Year Only, Salaried, Exempt


Summary


The Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) Support Specialist works within a standards-aligned, comprehensive school improvement framework for enhancing academic, behavioral and social-emotional outcomes for all students. Uses a problem-solving process to integrate evidence-based academic, behavioral and social-emotional practices matched to student needs and with fidelity of implementation. Guides the team in establishing and strengthening building structures and strategies that foster an equitable, safe, respectful and positive school environment.


Job Responsibilities

Develop fluency in school structures, processes and procedures necessary to support school in their use, scale-up, and sustainability of effective innovations for MTSS systems
Monitor and prompt the use of school processes and procedures (e.g., communication protocols)
Monitor and prompt review of school level implementation and identification of support provided to schools
Facilitate and collaboratively participate with building-level and school-level teams in regular analysis of school data (Universal Screener data, Curriculum-based assessment, progress monitoring data, fidelity data, and student outcome data) to identify successes, precise problem statements, contributing factors, and a plan to address needs
Organize and oversee the implementation of universal screening for all students.
Ensure that Collegium’s data system is actively used to provide current data for Tier II/III Problem-Solving Teams to address social-emotional and behavioral needs.
Plan and facilitate Tier II/III Problem Solving Team Leadership and Grade Level Meetings.
Maintain knowledge of evidence-based academic interventions.
Assist building leadership teams in coordination of plan for orienting and updating staff, students and community to the school’s Multi-Tiered Systems of Behavior Support
Plan, design, organize, prepare, and deliver professional development programs to address equity as related to Collegium’s MTSS structure and procedures.
Demonstrates effective planning, organization and teamwork.
Work collaboratively with the Curriculum Department to ensure the integrity of the data imputed into school data systems.
Shares a commitment to the success of the mission, goals, and objectives of CCS.
Promotes good citizenship through actions as a role model
Conducts himself or herself according to professional, ethical principles that reflect favorably upon the individual and the school
Maintains highest level of confidentiality pertaining to school and students’ information, progress, and records
Demonstrates a commitment to equitable practices for all students.
Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Student Services.
Abides by the CCS Employee Manual, CCS policies and procedures, and all current PA Public School expectations


Qualifications


Master Degree in Education, School Psychology, or related field
PA Teacher Certification
5 years teaching experience or related experience in the field of education
Advanced training in MTSS or equivalent experience
Experience implementing MTSS
Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with colleagues
Interpersonal problem-solving and organizational skills required to effectively facilitate coaching and staff professional development
Proven ability to analyze and apply student-level data to guide instructional decisions
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient with the use of computer programs, including Google Suite.
Experience with data and assessment systems; such as LinkIT, DRC/CDT, Acadience, STAR.
Required Clearances include Criminal Background Clearance (Act 34), Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151), and FBI Fingerprint Clearance (Act 114), all dated within one year of receipt
Meets criteria for employment in a PA Public School
Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCS upon hire).
