Scope and Purpose:
To be responsible, under the direction of the maintenance superintendent; for maintaining the entire residential apartment property in a safe, attractive, comfortable condition. Maintain relationships with other staff members. Meet standards of customer service with residents. Represents the Company in a professional and confidential manner at all times and follows Employee Handbook requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The activities listed below are not all inclusive. However, they are indicative of the type of activities normally performed by the maintenance technician:
1. Responsible for completing work orders and assignments in a thorough and industry standard manner.
2. Corrective maintenance.
3. Satisfies service requests per work orders, following company procedures.
4. Preventive maintenance as assigned.
5. Emergency maintenance:
a. Participate on the on- call for emergency duty rotation
b. Familiar with power, water, and gas turnoffs, clean-out traps, fire extinguishers and fire hydrants.
c. Knows emergency telephone numbers, i.e. police, fire department, maintenance superintendent.
d. Follows all company emergency procedures.
6. Other:
Snow Removal, grounds maintenance
7. Assist with cleaning, painting and turnover of apartments.
8. Attends all instructional classes conducted by management.
Qualifications:
1. High school education or equivalent.
2. Property residential maintenance experience 3 years preferred.
3. Knowledge of OSHA and safety training standards.
4. Snow removal required.
5. Ability to work with persons of all ages and ethnic backgrounds.
6. Personable and trustworthy and confidential.
7. Willingness to perform any task that is required.
8. Mechanical aptitude.
9. Ability to understand and communicate in English.
10. Valid driver’s license
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
