Job Description
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
The Leasing Office Assistant will be responsible, under the direction of the General Manager, to assist current and prospective residents with all activities related to apartment rentals.
This includes the College Suites at Cortland as well as for Pond Property Management.
Essential duties include, but are not limited to:
- Primarily responsible for all aspects of leasing the complex prospect management, tours, sales and closing.
- Manage sales cycles effectively for several prospects at once between multiple properties.
- Assist in developing, updating, and implementing the marketing plan.
- Help manage marketing channels, social media, online listings, and other forms of marketing.
- Assist with community building events - develop and carry out, build a sense of community and connectedness within the properties.
- Assist in overall office operations.
- Present available apartments in a friendly, knowledgeable fashion.
- Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries via phone and email.
- Provide exceptional customer service to prospective and current residents.
- Assist in management of requests from residents and coordination of work orders within the maintenance department.
- Keeping accurate records of prospective tenant traffic.
- Provide accurate information on available units.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule. Must be available to work days, nights, and weekends. Holidays as needed. Schedule subject to change weekly.
- Participate in general on call duties.
- Assist other departments as needed.
- Distribute mail and packages as they arrive for residents.
- Ensure all voicemails and emails are returned in a timely manner.
- Coordination of move in and move outs of residents, transient guests, groups, or any other occupants.
- Able to give tours of both College Suites at Cortland and Pond Property Management Apartments in LaFayette, NY.
- Must be able to drive and assist with other property duties in LaFayette, NY. (Mileage paid per companies diem. Established at the time of travel.)
- Assist with supervision of staff in absence of the General Manager.
- Make sure inventories are kept and office supplies are in stock.
- Keep up to date with NYS Laws on Rentals and Equal Opportunity Housing.
- Other duties as requested by the General Manager/Ownership.
Leasing Office Assistant Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must sign and obey confidentiality agreements.
- Strong understanding of computers and programs such as excel.
- Proven experience in customer service.
- Prior experience in apartment leasing is preferred but not required.
- Prior supervisory experience is preferred but not required.
- Prior experience in sales and marketing is highly preferred but not required.
- Valid Drivers License in good standing.
Pay: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour
