What are the responsibilities and job description for the Elementary Classroom Intercessor (Temp for the 2026-2027 school year) position at College Station Elementary-135?
LOCATION: College Station Elementary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED and one of the following:
- Completed 60 credit hours of study at an accredited college or university
- Obtained an associate’s degree (or higher)
- Passed the paraprofessional academic assessment test
- Ability to work with at-risk students
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: To assist the classroom teacher in effectively using all appropriate resources to improve the learning environment for students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in developing behavior modification programs for students.
- Work intensively on a one-to-one basis with students.
- Assist in maintaining records of students assigned to the multi-age classroom.
- Assist in follow-up of students with home visits.
- Maintain and provide tutoring for students.
- Reinforce instructional activities with students as prescribed by the teacher.
- Resolve conflicts and remedy potential problems involving staff and students smoothly, promptly, efficiently, effectively, and as justly and consistently as possible.
- Provide appropriate training and maintain ongoing support services for parents.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary Range: Range 3 – Support Staff Hourly Salary ($12.04/hr. - $21.32/hr. depending on relevant experience)
Length of Contract: 178 contract days, 7 hrs/day
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Personnel Status: Classified

EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
