Job Summary
A Behavior Technician supports the College Elementary School Districts students by reinforcing instruction and behavior support to individuals or small groups of students, assist in preparing instructional materials, implementing provisions within Individual Education Plans (IEPs), and provide routine clerical support. Benefits -This position includes all legally mandated benefits applicable to part-time employees, including the accrual of up to 10 sick leave and 10 vacation days per year. Health and welfare benefits are included at a prorated portion. Knowledge/Skill Requirements -Understanding of the role of a Behavior Technician. Ability to organize and plan effectively. -Participate in: Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and SELPA Behavior Aide training. -Possess knowledge and/or willingness to be trained in specialized health and safety care procedures and equipment; will be required, as the needs of students dictate, to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, physical restraint and specialized physical health care procedures. Physical Requirements -Ability to work at a desk, conference table or in meetings of various configurations. -Ability to stand and circulate for extended periods of time. -Ability to see for purposes of reading law and codes, rules and policies and other printed matter and observing students. -Ability to hear and understand speech at normal levels. -Ability to communicate so others will be able to clearly understand normal conversation. -Ability to bend and twist, kneel and stoop, run and crawl. -Ability to lift 50 pounds. -Ability to carry 50 pounds. -Ability to reach in all directions. *Please see Job Description for a full list of Representative Duties and Working Conditions.
Requirements / Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts degree is preferred. Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred, and/or be willing and available to enroll, and complete, 40 hours of professional development training and continue to attend yearly, ongoing professional development in the area of Behavior Analysis. TB Clearance Livescan Fingerprint Clearance Letter of Introduction 3 letters of recommendation
