The College of Westchester is seeking a Practicum Coordinator, Allied Health to work in our Career Services department. The Practicum Coordinator, Allied Health is primary responsible for coordinating and overseeing the interactions between health professions students and their internships and clinical practicum sites. The coordinator will teach practicum courses during both day and evening session and aim to achieve a high certification rate. Additionally, the coordinator is tasked with maintaining high in-field graduate employment rates with regional employers offering competitive salaries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Associate degree in Medical Assistant Management required
- 1-3 years’ experience in Healthcare
- Strong verbal and written communications to interact with students, faculty, and external partners
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensure compliance with accreditation and/or professional certification standards demonstrating students’ competency.
- Assist with students’ transition from classwork to practicum to placement at one of CW’s clinical affiliations.
- Maintain office hours that reflect availability for all students you are scheduled to teach and supervise.
- Monitor student attendance on sites and at clinical facilities.
- Ensure that students complete all required assignments and submit evaluation forms.
- Assign course grades for all students enrolled in the MSC301, 301A, and 301B practicum class.
- Oversee and support the activities of the Allied Health Club, facilitating engagement and networking opportunities for students in the program.
- Ensure that students participate in certification prep activities including test prep review materials, taking all practice exams provided, receiving necessary tutoring in areas deemed deficient through the practice exams.
- Submit a weekly practicum tracker reflecting students’ practicum and internship progress.
- Continue to build CW’s practicum affiliations and meet with site supervisors to ensure students are meeting clinical and professional competencies.
- Maintain absolute and total confidentiality of personal information shared by companies, students, graduates, and alumni.

Hourly Rate for part-time position: $21.63, current schedule will require 28 hours weekly
Benefits Offered for Part-time employees may include: 401(k) retirement plan (must meet annual hours for eligibility), and NYS sick leave (up to 56 hours annually)
