Under guidance from the Director of Information Technology, the Senior Systems Analyst\Programmer position develops and maintains advanced technological solutions and performs high-level administrative tasks within the College’s Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, including integrations with external systems.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are typical for this classification. Incumbents may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs and changing business practices. Essential responsibilities are designated by *.
1. Oversee the regular operation of the ERP system including:
• Creating and maintaining the Production Calendar
• Executing tasks assigned to IT in the Production Calendar
• Participating on the ERP Steering Committee
• Advanced user account management, including creating new roles and modifying permissions for existing roles.
• Creating and modifying complex reports
2. Provide third-level support for business process and technical workflow issues within the ERP system and, when necessary, escalating issues to vendor support or consultants.
3. Participate in initiatives and projects to improve, upgrade, and create new functionality within the ERP system by:
• Defining Technical Requirements for technical workflow
• Serving on ERP-related projects teams throughout the project lifecycle:
• • Initiation
• • Planning
• • Executing (in both test and production environments)
• • Monitoring and Controlling (largely through User Acceptance Testing)
• • Closing
• • Developing advanced programmatic solutions, including executables, procedures, triggers, and scripts.
• • Keeping abreast of vendor roadmaps, emerging technologies, and changes in requirements within the California Community College system
4. As needed, assist or backup the Systems Analyst-Programmer and Business Analyst I positions.
Minimum Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree in computer science or related field;
AND
Three (3) years of database management experience.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience with:
• Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems
• • Student Information Systems, such as Banner
• • Academic Advising software, such as DegreeWorks
• • Learning Management Systems, such as Canvas
• • Programming and scripting languages, including Structure Query Language (SQL)
• • Report writing tools
• Training and certification in:
• • Business Analysis
• • Project Management
• Troubleshooting skills such as research, reasoning, analysis and decision making
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
May be required to possess or demonstrate an ability to obtain a valid driver’s license, if driving is required as an essential responsibility of the position.
May be required to travel for various off-site meetings, trainings, conferences, workshops, and/or events in support of the overall objective of the position.
