The Department of Political Science at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for TWO full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors specializing in American Politics to begin in August 2026.

These positions are open to candidates trained in American Politics whose research and teaching expertise is focused on American national institutions, specifically on legislative politics and/or executive branch politics. These core specializations could be coupled with other research and teaching interests, including race, gender, bureaucracy, public opinion, political psychology, state and local government, inequality, health care, and the environment. The successful candidate will teach courses at all levels, including introductory courses in American Politics (27 students) and upper division courses (19 students) in their area of specialization. Candidates also have the opportunity to contribute to the College's interdisciplinary departments, including Critical Race and Ethnic Studies and Environmental Studies, and programs, including Health Studies; Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies; Peace and Conflict Studies; and other programs housed in the College's Center for Interdisciplinary Studies.

This position carries a 3-2 teaching load with a research leave prior to tenure review of either a full year at 80% salary or a semester at full salary, and generous sabbatical and fellowship leaves for tenured faculty. To enable a smooth transition to Holy Cross, new full-time tenure-track Assistant Professors receive start-up funding to support their research and professional development and have a one-course reduction in their first year of teaching (i.e., 2-2). This position offers full benefits and a starting salary in the range of $101,850 to $103,850. Qualifications

Candidates must demonstrate excellence in scholarship and undergraduate teaching as well as a commitment to inclusive pedagogies. Ph.D. required by the beginning of the appointment.
