The role of the Network Administrator is to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient network connectivity across all campuses. The Network Administrator installs, configures, and maintains network infrastructure; monitors system performance; and proactively resolves issues to minimize downtime. The Network Administrator provides advanced technical support, collaborates closely with Information Technology (IT) staff and other college departments, and communicates effectively with stakeholders. The Network Administrator supports COA's cybersecurity posture, system stability, and commitment to delivering a dependable technology environment that advances the college's mission and goals.
The Network Administrator receives supervision from the Director of Information Technology.
- Manage enterprise network resources on all campuses; analyze network performance and usage, and troubleshoot network problems. Responsible for the overall performance and availability of the network.
- Establish and maintain routine preventative maintenance schedule; maintain network diagrams; maintain the security of the campus-wide network, including the network firewall system, authentication servers, and Internet addresses.
- Manager server infrastructure, including but not limited to electronic mail, authentication servers, and other servers as deemed necessary.
- Troubleshoot and support the college's storage systems. Create and review reports on storage usage.
- Allocate and de-allocate LUNs, NFS, and CIFS as needed in a multiprotocol environment.
- Administer Microsoft Active Directory, including the creation and troubleshooting group policies.
- Support the IT helpdesk environment.
- Manage G Suite (Google Workspace for Education) and Office 365/Azure environments.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Associate of Applied Science degree in Information Systems or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years of experience with network component hardware, software, and security.
- Experience with Microsoft Server 2016-2019-2022; Palo Alto Firewall; Cisco Switches
- Bachelor's of Science degree in Information Systems or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Four years of experience with network component hardware, software, and security.
- Experience with Microsoft Server 2025; VMware
- Experience administering Microsoft Active Directory in a medium-to-large scale network environment, including the creation and troubleshooting group policies.
- Experience working in a higher education or college-level academic setting.
- Operating systems and Storage Area Networks (SAN) and backup solutions.
- Proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with local area networks (LANs).
- Work across various operating system platforms.
- Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Work successfully in a team environment, prioritize a variety of work assignment and meet deadlines.
- Exercise good judgment and initiative.
- Possess, or ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid driver's license.
Salary : $3,310 - $4,137
