Visiting Assistant Professor - Global Business (3-Year Term)

The College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invites applicants for a three-year, full-time term appointment as Visiting Assistant Professor of Global Business Leadership. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. This position is not eligible for remote work.

With a total enrollment of approximately 2,900 students, faculty members develop relationships with students in small classroom settings and have opportunities to work closely with students on research projects, experiential learning experiences, and study abroad programs. Recent initiatives to create a dynamic general education curriculum and to develop plans for a new teaching and learning center demonstrate strong institutional support for faculty development.

Teaching responsibilities for this position include teaching upper and lower-level general management classes. The candidate will be responsible for teaching three 4-credit courses per semester plus contributing to departmental level service and student advising. 

Department Highlights
The Global Business Leadership Department consists of an internationally focused group of faculty members and offers a bachelor’s degree in business with concentrations in Marketing, Supply Chain, Social Innovation and General Business.
 
Global Business Leadership engages a holistic approach in preparing students for business careers in diverse organizations and graduate education. The program enhances students’ critical thinking, creativity, innovation, communication skills, and organizational systems skills. The department has a strong student record of job placements, internships, and study abroad experiences. Deeply embedded in the liberal arts, the Global Business Leadership discipline enables students to become responsible citizens, ethical leaders, lifelong learners, and innovators.

• Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Data Analysis or similar business-related program.
• The ability to teach upper level and lower level general management classes.
• Proficient in the use of and ability to teach computer software programs central to general business problem solving, data analysis and visualization. Such tools might include Excel, Access, Tableau, or related programs.
• Effective verbal and written communication and presentation skills,
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and to equity, inclusion, and diversity in working with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds,
• A willingness to engage actively in the liberal arts, teaching students to tackle new areas of knowledge and make connections.
• Evidence of teaching effectiveness

Preferred:

• PhD, PhD - ABD, DBA in Business Administration/ Management, Data Analysis or similar business-related program.
• Relevant work experience in business, particularly with responsibilities that include real world approaches to general management problem solving.
