Job Description
Student/Customer Service: 75%
- Conducts nursing assessments and implements appropriate interventions for illness and minor injuries.
- Performs phlebotomy services and administers immunizations in accordance with established clinical guidelines and protocols.
- Responds promptly to campus emergencies involving illness or injury, providing first aid, triage, and coordination with emergency services as needed.
- Coordinates and delivers immunization services across all campus locations.
- Assesses patient needs and provides appropriate referrals to external healthcare providers or community resources when necessary.
- Responds to telephone inquiries, offering guidance, scheduling assistance, and triaging health-related concerns.
- Issues temporary medical parking permits.
- Orders, stocks, and maintains medical supplies and medications to ensure readiness.
- Accurately documents all nursing assessments, interventions, and outcomes in electronic health record systems.
- Maintains confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and institutional policies.
- Enters and updates demographics, medical histories, immunization records, and visit notes within the system.
- Participate in cross-departmental initiatives and campus events.
- Identify and recommend process enhancements to improve efficiency and service delivery.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the mission, vision, strategic priorities and goals of the College and the primary unit, division and department of this position.

Required Qualifications
- Associate degree in Nursing required;
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional nursing experience, preferably in an outpatient or clinical setting.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Demonstrated proficiency in phlebotomy and specimen collection techniques.
- Current, active State of Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required.
- Current CPR certification at the Healthcare Provider level (e.g., BLS) required.
- Experience using electronic health record (EHR) systems and health software for documentation and patient care management.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general office equipment.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds and maintain a respectful, inclusive environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
- Prior experience in ambulatory care or outpatient clinical settings preferred.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred to support a diverse patient population.
- Experience working with computer information systems used for student and employee data and reporting such as Workday.
