Job Summary
This position is responsible for assisting library operations when a Librarian is not available. Some overtime and weekend work may be required.
Responsibilities
1 -
Completes basic service desk functions to include checking in/out and renewing library materials and spaces. Answers questions in-person or by phone regarding library services, resources, general campus queries.
2 -
Manage patron records, including updating account information and communicating notes to other users, providing status updates for items on loan and requested materials, and reinstating/restricting borrowing privileges.
3 -
Assists patrons with placing and/or receiving library inter-campus loans, GIL Express, and ILL requests. Explain and enforce library policies and procedures

Manages lost and found, which includes following College Library best practices
5 -
Monitors inventory of student use paper and print cartridges and orders additional supplies.
6 -
Processes daily incoming/outgoing mail, which includes fulfilling call slip requests via inter-campus, mail.
7 -
Assist with larger-scale library projects and events, including space and collection management and campus programming
8 -
Develops web library LibGuides which help students find the resources that they need to accomplish their work in their fields of study.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or combination of experience and education
Other Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of library circulation processes in an automated environment
Required Experience
- One year of experience in a library or customer service experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with technologies used in libraries such as circulation systems, e-book systems, document delivery applications, interlibrary loan and other material request applications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in a course of study of arts and humanities.
Preferred Experience
- Working in a college setting
- Working in a library as a tutor
