Job Summary
The School of Arts & Sciences seeks dynamic applicants for a Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Mathematics. This is an academic year (10-month) position beginning on August 1st.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement courses in both upper and lower division mathematics and data science, including learning support mathematics.
- Teach 12 credit hours per semester in Fall and Spring terms.
- Maintain on campus office hours, preparing lesson plans, syllabi, including course objectives, lectures, and other course materials such as quizzes and exams, and submission of final grades and attendance reports.
- Some online teaching may be required.
- Teach both day and evening classes at the Brunswick campus or the Camden Center location, as needed.
- Engage in service, professional development and scholarship activities.
- Conduct academic advisement and career counseling.
- Maintain a commitment to high impact practices.
Required Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Online teaching
- A background in data science, applied mathematics, or computer science with the ability to teach a variety of programming or data science courses.
