Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality obstetric, gynecologic, and vascular ultrasound examinations
- Prepare exam rooms and ultrasound equipment according to infection control and patient safety standards
- Review patient medical history and verify examination orders
- Explain procedures and provide exceptional patient care and support
- Obtain accurate diagnostic images for physician interpretation
- Document preliminary findings and communicate significant findings to physicians as appropriate
- Ensure patient comfort, privacy, and safety throughout examinations
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality
- Collaborate effectively with physicians, nurses, and administrative staff
- Maintain ultrasound equipment and ensure operational readiness
- Participate in staff meetings, training, and continuing education activities
Qualifications
Required
- RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer)
- RVT (Registered Vascular Technologist)
- Current CPR Certification
- Valid Driver's License
- Strong knowledge of ultrasound equipment and EMR systems
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Preferred
- Experience in OB/GYN ultrasound
- Experience working in an outpatient medical practice
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist patients throughout the workday
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Ability to perform repetitive scanning motions while utilizing proper ergonomic techniques
