Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic people to join the CAMP team to serve at Robertsdale High School. The ACT Instructor delivers engaging, effective, and student-centered instruction to help high school students improve ACT scores. Instructors follow CAMP-provided curriculum and resources, adapt lessons for diverse learners, and help build a positive, college-focused culture. This role requires strong ACT content knowledge, classroom management skills, and the ability to motivate students toward postsecondary success.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver ACT prep lessons using CAMP-provided slide decks and materials.
- Facilitate whole-class, small-group, and/or tiered instruction according to student needs and program design.
- Incorporate test-taking strategies, pacing techniques, and subject review into lessons.
- Monitor engagement and adjust delivery to maintain a productive learning environment.
- Track student attendance and participation; submit required reports/documentation on time.
- Collaborate with program staff to address student challenges and celebrate growth.
- Model professionalism, punctuality, and a growth mindset for students.
- Maintain confidentiality of student data and follow CAMP policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Required:
- Strong content knowledge in ACT-tested subjects (English, Math, Reading, Science).
- Ability to explain concepts clearly and adjust instruction for varying skill levels.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
- Commitment to student success and educational equity.
Preferred:
- Experience teaching or tutoring high school students.
- Pursuing or completed Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience with ACT prep or standardized test instruction.
- Familiarity with standardized test prep resources.

Compensation & Pay Scale
CAMP offers competitive pay rates based on instructor experience, qualifications, and program type or location.
Tier 1 – College Student Instructor
- Strong content knowledge, developing instructional skills.
- Current college student or recent graduate with tutoring/mentoring experience.
- $25/hr
Tier 2 – Experienced Educator
- Skilled at classroom management and delivering ACT-aligned lessons.
- Certified teacher or seasoned tutor with proven instructional results.
- $30–$40/hr
Tier 3 – Master Instructor / Lead
- Exceptional ACT score improvement results; may coach/train other instructors.
- Veteran teacher, instructional coach, or high-performing test prep professional.
- $45–$60/hr
Notes:
- Rates apply to instructional time; prep time may be compensated separately or included in program design.
- In-person sessions may include travel stipends for certain locations.
- Flat per-session rates may be used for short or special programs.
- Schedule varies by program and may include school-day, after-school, weekend, or intensive sessions.
- Some programs require in-person instruction; others may be virtual or hybrid.
- Paid training in CAMP curriculum and ACT-specific strategies is provided
