Position Overview: We're seeking a talented Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer on the Associate or Associate Principal track to lead the design and implementation of sophisticated plumbing and fire protection systems. You'll partner with cross-functional teams to develop comprehensive construction specifications and documentation for groundbreaking projects. This role demands technical excellence, a passion for code compliance, and the drive to innovate in a dynamic, team-oriented environment.


Salary Range: $70,000 - $160,000 annually, based on experience, location, and market data


Key Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the design of plumbing and fire protection systems for new builds and renovations, incorporating innovative features like eco-friendly wellness integrations.
  • Conduct thorough field surveys and system assessments to optimize performance.
  • Perform complex engineering calculations, sizing, and hydraulic modeling.
  • Produce coordinated drawings and models in Revit and AutoCAD for seamless project delivery.
  • Research and apply evolving codes, standards, and sustainable technologies.
  • Prepare in-depth technical reports and project documentation.
  • Engage in collaborative meetings and drive interdisciplinary coordination.
  • Manage construction administration, including reviews, site visits, and problem-solving.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering (required).
  • 5 years of direct experience in plumbing and fire protection design.
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and hydraulic software (e.g., Elite, HydraCALC, HASS).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of plumbing/fire protection design, terminology, and MEP integration.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-project setting.
  • Familiarity with national building codes; NYC regulations a plus.
