Description:
CSPNJ, a mental health nonprofit agency, is looking for 2 seasonal Driver(s) for the Warming Center. The Warming Center provides emergency overnight shelter for the unhoused from November through March. The Warming Center provides a warm safe place for unsheltered individuals to spend the night during the winter months.
Key Responsibilities
- Must have experience driving 10-12 passenger van.
- Transport passengers in Ocean County to the Warming Center in Toms River, NJ.
- Communicate effectively with passengers.
- Maintains orderly conduct of passengers on bus.
- Assist passengers with boarding and exiting the bus, if needed.
- Report accidents, incidents, or mechanical problems to the center manager.
- Inspect the bus before and after each trip to ensure it is in good working condition and ensure cleanliness after each shift.
Hourly Rate: $30.00 | $100 Holiday Shift Pay on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day
2 part-time shifts available | Up to 29 hours per week | No benefits
1. 7:00am – 10:00am
2. 5:00pm – 8:00pm
Requirements:- Experience driving 10-12 passenger van REQUIRED.
- Clean driving record with no accidents or violations within the last 3 years.
- Prior experience as a bus driver preferred.
- High School diploma / GED.
- Efficiency and time-management.
- Excellent driving skills and knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and focused in stressful situations.
- Ability to work with individuals with mental illness in a caring and professional manner.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Lived Experience: CSPNJ prioritizes hiring people who use their own life experience dealing with mental health/substance use issues to inspire and support others.
