Entry Level Scientific (Laboratory)

This entry level scientific role plays a critical role in ensuring specimen integrity, maintaining accurate documentation, supporting quality initiatives, and helping the laboratory operate efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This position is actually located in Madison, WI so candidates must be willing to relocate to Madison, WI.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform specimen accessioning, processing, sample racking, and laboratory support functions.
• Utilize laboratory automation systems and equipment to support workflow efficiency.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and perform routine maintenance activities.
• Handle, process, and dispose of specimens according to laboratory procedures and safety requirements.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation using Good Documentation Practices (GDP).
• Complete required laboratory documentation accurately and on time.
• Support laboratory inspections, audits, SOP development, and compliance initiatives.
• Follow all laboratory safety regulations and procedures.
• Participate in quality improvement and process improvement initiatives.
• Support departmental goals aligned with organizational objectives.
• Work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Biology, microbiology, biochemistry or related science
• Familiar with basic laboratory skills
• Ability to follow written procedures and verbal instructions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• If relocating must be able to relocate to Madison, WI within a few weeks.
