Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavior Technician to join our team. In this role, you will work directly with children and individuals with developmental disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum. You will implement behavioral therapy techniques under the guidance of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and assist in data collection to track progress and effectiveness of interventions. Your commitment to patient care and understanding of special education principles will be crucial in fostering a supportive environment for our clients.
Responsibilities
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans as directed by the BCBA.
- Provide direct support to children and individuals with developmental disabilities in various settings.
- Collect and record data on client behavior, progress, and responses to interventions.
- Assist in conducting patient assessments and diagnostic evaluations.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medical records and intake forms.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
- Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to promote client success.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in applied behavior analysis (ABA) and patient care.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children or individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Familiarity with behavioral therapy techniques, particularly those related to autism spectrum disorders.
- Knowledge of special education practices and principles is beneficial.
- Experience in data collection methods relevant to behavioral health is essential.
- Understanding of medical terminology, documentation practices, and patient assessment processes is required.
