Job Summary:
We are seeking a Scientist I to support analytical testing activities for commercial and pipeline small molecule development programs within a pharmaceutical laboratory environment. This role involves performing routine analytical chemistry testing, generating reliable data, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting product development initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess strong laboratory skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team setting.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform routine analytical chemistry testing independently to generate accurate, reliable, and consistent results
• Conduct laboratory experiments following established procedures, protocols, and standard methods
• Learn and apply new analytical techniques and laboratory methodologies
• Operate and maintain analytical instrumentation including chromatography and spectroscopic systems
• Interpret analytical data, troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation, and recommend solutions
• Author scientific protocols, reports, and technical documentation
• Maintain accurate and timely laboratory records, including electronic laboratory notebooks
• Present experimental results and findings during team meetings
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and applicable laboratory regulations
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support development and operational objectives
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline
• Minimum of 2 years of laboratory-based experience in an analytical or research environment
• Ability to work in a laboratory setting, including standing and operating instruments for extended periods
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Ability to follow written procedures, protocols, and standard operating procedures accurately
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
• Experience with Gas Chromatography (GC)
• Experience with spectroscopic techniques and mass spectrometry
• Familiarity with pharmaceutical testing and Good Manufacturing Practice environments
• Experience using laboratory data management systems and electronic laboratory notebooks
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment
• Experience collaborating within cross-functional scientific teams
