Position Title: Scientist II - Biologics Drug Product Development
Duration: 6 months Contract; possible extension based on business needs)
Location: North Chicago, IL 60064 — 100% Onsite
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Pay Range: $45.00 - $52.00
Responsibilities:
- Perform hands-on laboratory work focused on liquid handling, sample preparation, and processing of biologic compounds.
- Execute high-throughput (HT) screening assays using established methods and automated platforms.
- Collect, process, and analyze data generated from laboratory instruments supporting biologics characterization.
- Support a large, multi-year initiative involving data collection on a diverse panel of biologic molecules.
- Conduct method development and execution of novel HT assays as needed.
- Analyze experimental data and present findings during routine team meetings.
- Maintain accurate documentation of experiments in an electronic laboratory notebook in accordance with documentation policies.
- Collaborate with scientists and cross-functional teams to support planning and execution of future experiments.
- Stay current with relevant scientific literature and contribute to new scientific initiatives.
Must Have:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a scientific discipline.
- 3-5 years of relevant laboratory experience OR Master’s degree with minimal to no industry experience. (No PHD)
- Hands-on wet lab experience.
- Hands-on experience with analytical techniques for biologics characterization.
- Direct experience with HPLC or UPLC.
- Experience with liquid handling and laboratory sample preparation.
- Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret experimental data.
- Strong laboratory execution skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, onsite laboratory environment.
Preferred:
- Experience with capillary electrophoresis and biophysical techniques (UV-Vis, DLS, DSF).
- Scientific understanding of monoclonal antibodies, antibody constructs/conjugates, bispecifics, or fusion proteins.
- Experience with formulation development for biologics, including excipient selection and high-throughput assays.
- Experience using electronic lab notebooks or digital data capture tools.
- Undergraduate or graduate research lab experience.
