Position Overview


Colfax Health and Rehab of Cascadia is a Skilled Nursing and Long-Term Care facility. We are equipped for 55 beds and have various resources available for our residents: therapy, behavioral health, wound care, activities, social services, and more. We are located 30 minutes from Pullman in a rural area where the community comes together. We are seeking someone who is willing to be a part of our team and help create relationships with our residents.


The Maintenance Manager oversees all physical plant operations, ensuring the facility’s systems, equipment, and grounds run safely, smoothly, and reliably. This role blends hands-on expertise with strategic leadership—perfect for someone who enjoys solving problems, improving processes, and keeping a healthcare environment operating at its best.

All Cascadia Healthcare employees must meet state-specific background check requirements before working directly with residents.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facility Maintenance — Performs routine maintenance and repair projects across the building and grounds to ensure a safe, functional environment.
  • Vendor Coordination — Schedules and oversees third-party repair services when specialized work is required.
  • Utility Systems Oversight — Directs maintenance activities for heat, steam, electrical, gas, and air systems to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Preventive Maintenance Programs — Designs and implements proactive maintenance plans to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Budget Management — Prepares departmental budgets and monitors expenditures to maintain cost-effective operations.
  • Operational Improvements — Recommends enhancements to equipment, systems, and workflows.
  • Procurement — Orders tools, supplies, and equipment necessary for daily operations.
  • Engineering Collaboration — Reviews new product plans and collaborates with engineers on equipment needs and modifications.
  • Grounds Management — Leads efforts to maintain attractive, well-kept outdoor spaces.
  • Process Improvement — Participates in facility-wide quality and efficiency initiatives.
  • Attendance & Reliability — Maintains consistent, punctual attendance for assigned shifts.
  • Oversees - Housekeeping and Laundry Personel and creates a work schedule.

Additional Duties

  • General Tasks as assigned.
  • Compliance with company policies, federal/state regulations, and professional standards.
  • Safety Regulations including annual fire life safety and water system requirements.
  • Team Leadership — Supervises the Maintenance Assistant when applicable.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Building Codes and regulations for plant equipment operation.
  • HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical systems expertise.
  • OSHA Safety and other regulatory knowledge.
  • Leadership — Ability to direct, motivate, and support maintenance staff.
  • Communication — Comfortable interacting with residents, families, and team members at all organizational levels.

Requirements:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Graduation from an appropriate technical/trade school preferred.

Licenses/Certification

  • Current valid driver’s license from the State in which the facility operates.

Experience

  • Five years of experience in building maintenance.
  • One year of supervisory experience is preferred.
  • At least one year of long-term care facility experience preferred.

Salary : $24 - $30
