What are the responsibilities and job description for the Public Services Aide (PT) position at Colerain Township?
PURPOSE: The Public Services Aide will be responsible for the general assistance in the Public Services department with functions such as special events, clerical duties, and other support services.
SCOPE: The Public Services Aide will perform all duties in a positive and professional manner, providing for the smooth operation of the department.
ESSENTIAL ROLES amp; RESPONSIBLILITIES: May include, but not limited to the following:
- Assist with shelter and ball field rental reservations.
- Assistance with set-up and breakdown of special events.
- Supervise special events when needed.
- Supporting staff through necessary clerical duties such as sorting mail, organizing invoices, answering phones, etc.
- Filing, scanning, organizing and maintaining records and filing systems.
- Writing, proofreading and distributing emails, letters, memos and reports.
- Performing data entry and maintaining databases and spreadsheets.
- Assisting with supply purchases and general errands of the department.
- May be assigned to special projects.
- Additional duties as assigned.
CRITICAL SKILLS / EXPERTISE:
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision.
- Computer literacy and ability to learn new software.
- Experience with Microsoft Suite applications such as Excel and Word.
EDUCATION, LICENSING amp; CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
- 18 years or older.
- Previous experience with clerical work preferred.
- Must possess a valid State Issued Driver’s License.
- High School diploma or equivalent.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and to reach with hands and arms.
- The employee must be able to lift and/or move varying amounts of weight, depending upon the task at hand. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to kneel, bend at the waist, and work in a standing position for long periods.
