Full job description:
- JOB SITES located in the South Bay and central coast area; this is a hybrid position with travel up to 25% when needed
Coleman Environmental Engineering, Inc. is looking to IMMEDIATELY hire one (1) Senior Vegetation Management inspector for Gas vegetation management construction and related forestry activities
IBEW union position subjected to CBA
The primary responsibilities include (but not limited to):
-Perform patrols in accordance with the standards and procedures
-Identify and prescribe required tree work along rights-of-way
-Notify property owners/agencies when tree work will occur and obtaining authorization
-Perform work verification inspections; investigations and documentation of tree-related outages and attending outage meetings as requested.
-May support emergency response such as dispatching tree crews, field checking sites, first responder stand-by agreements.
-Independently complete tasks assigned by the supervisor.
support oversight of vegetation projects, including field operations such as tree assessment, tree trimming, and other work as required.
-Participate in Contractor safety and tailboard meetings.
-Act as a customer relations representative on behalf of the client.
-Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations which may include, but are not limited to: Annual permits, Encroachment permits, Traffic Control Plans, railroad permits, CalTrans permits, and environmental protection measures as documented on Environmental Release to Construction.
-Shall be proficient in electronic devices and documentation proficiency.
-Patrolling distribution or transmission circuits and prescribing work to be performed, ensuring that the clearances prescribed will maintain compliance
-Determining when the next trim is required and whether a trim or removal is necessary, assessing all trees with the potential to strike facilities for failure likelihood and hazards.
-Required to use computers and associated software, enter data into and process data from hand-held devices, as required.
-Perform all necessary duties for emergency response in accordance with all safety requirements, laws and regulations, and applicable labor agreements or an iOS compatible mobile device as directed by the supervisor.
-May be required to participate in public presentations and meetings, as required.
We're offering:
- Job Type: Full-time
- Pay: From $50.35 per hours (wages going up 5% late June 2026)
- Fringe ILB pay: $12.59 per hour (going up late June 2026)
- Expected hours: 40 per week (OT may be available based on client approval and project needs)
- Lodging stipend: 100-150$/day when traveling
- Per diem: 50$/day
Minimum Qualifications (MUST HAVE):
High School diploma or GED, AND
Required to maintain a Class C driver’s license AND
Active valid ISA certified arborist
Active valid Tree Risk assessment Qualified
Approval by Utility client Representative
PREFERRED: Registered Professional Forester
