Colectiva Legal del Pueblo is a non-hierarchical collective organization founded for and by undocumented immigrants working to build community leadership and power for migrant justice through legal advocacy and education.

Colectiva Legal del Pueblo was founded in November 2012 by a group of undocumented community organizers, activists and immigration attorneys who recognized the need to create an organization that provides legal support while building community power for migrant justice. We provide legal advocacy, community education, and support to immigrant communities, as well as legal support, in general.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Title: Fundraising & Development Coordinator

Colectiva is flexible in staffing this position and invites applications from individuals seeking:

  • A permanent full-time staff position
  • A part-time staff position, with the potential to move to full-time after 90 days
  • A part-time contractor/freelancer position

Location: Burien, WA. This position is a hybrid position, with 30-50% of time working from home and 50-70% of time spent in the office.

Hours: Colectiva is seeking a motivated applicant able to work 20 to 40 hours

per week, Monday through Friday.

Part Time: Ideally 20 hours per week, Monday through Friday (PT),

OR

Full Time: 40 hours per week Monday through Friday (FT)

Availability: weekdays and some weekends or nights

Compensation: Full-Time Salary: $80,168.40

Hourly Rate: $38.54/hour

Start Date: Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.

POSITION SUMMARY

Colectiva is searching for a person committed to social justice and advancingimmigration reform by growing the collective to provide immigrants with services and support. We are searching for an experienced individual to lead our strategic fundraising efforts, and to execute Colectiva’s fundraising plan in collaboration with Colectiva’s Finance Committee.

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES OF THE POSITION

A. Grassroots Fundraising, Event Coordination & Communications (~75% of Time)

  • Create short- and long-term fundraising strategies
  • Develop, maintain and cultivate relationships with current, past and potential donors, increasing the number and amount of donors;
  • Create and implement strategies to secure new funding streams and diversify revenue sources;
  • Design targeted initiatives to convert one-time donors into recurring supporters;
  • Monitor day-to-day giving, ensuring accurate processing and stewardship of gifts via mail, emails and phone calls;
  • Coordinate direct mail and end of year giving plan, including developing and distributing Annual Reports, coordinating annual e-appeals, stewardship of donors, and sending tax letters to all donors;
  • Spearhead events, including Give-Big, Giving-Tuesday, and other fundraising events;
  • Coordinate social media engagement related to fundraising activities and storytelling around Colectiva’s community impact

B. Working with Grantors & Funders (~25% of Time)

  • Working closely with Finance Team to:
  • Write and submit grant proposals to obtain, increase, and diversify funding that aligns with Colectiva’s mission;
  • Improve and coordinate Colectiva’s grant reporting, tracking deliverables, and grant management;
  • Coordinate site visits and work with staff to manage funder reports, accomplish; objectives in accordance with funding timelines, and oversee project budgets;
  • Input and track all foundation monies in Colectiva’s donor management database

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THE POSITION

  • 2 years of successful development experience, or a combination of demonstrated relevant work and education experience, that includes the proven ability to set and meet fundraising goals;
  • Alignment with Colectiva’s mission and organizational values;
  • Possess the natural ability to build relationships, lead and train others with exceptional writing, speaking and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Experience developing and executing strategic fundraising plans;
  • Experience planning and implementing virtual (and potential in-person) donor cultivation events;
  • Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, small-team environment;
  • Comfortable working with Colectiva’s Board members in their fundraising efforts;
  • Experience tracking revenues and expenses, working with and maintaining CRM donor databases, knowledge of Little Green Light is a plus;
  • Familiarity with social media
  • Proficiency in Spanish preferred.

SALARY & BENEFITS

The hourly wage for this position is $38.54 per hour for a Part-time position. The Full-time position's salary is $80,168.40.

A full-time staff position includes health and vision insurance, professional development & membership fees, and generous paid time off, vacation and sick leave. Starting full-time employees receive 200 hours of paid time off (sick and vacation combined) per year.

Part-time employees working a consistent 20 hours a week may be offered prorated PTO & benefits.

Contractors/freelancers do not receive paid time off or any benefits.
