Responsibilities
- Conduct detailed inspections of damaged vehicles to assess the extent of collision or repair needs using computer-aided estimating software.
- Prepare comprehensive repair estimates that include parts, labor, and materials, ensuring accuracy and transparency for clients and insurance companies.
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding repair procedures, costs, and timelines to enhance customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with technicians, mechanics, and service managers to coordinate repairs and ensure timely completion of work.
- Upsell additional services such as vehicle maintenance or mechanical repairs when appropriate to maximize dealership or shop revenue.
- Maintain detailed records of estimates, repairs, and client interactions while adhering to company policies and industry standards.
- Stay current on automotive diagnostics, collision repair techniques, and estimating software updates to provide expert guidance.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in automotive diagnostics, collision repair, and vehicle maintenance.
- Proficiency in estimating software and computer-aided vehicle damage estimating tools.
- Dealership experience or background in auto service management is highly desirable.
- Excellent client communication skills with a focus on customer service excellence.
- Ability to upsell services effectively while maintaining integrity and trust with clients.
- Knowledge of transmissions, oil changes, brake repair, suspension systems, tire service, shocks & struts, air brake systems, alignment, diesel engine repair, and other automotive repairs.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; ability to drive company vehicles as needed.
- Experience in auto sales or service writing is a plus but not required.
