Position:  Instrument Man

St. Louis, MO Office

Responsibilities:


Perform entry level surveying duties, including, but not limited to:


Assist the crew chief in daily operations during Boundary, Topographic, ALTA/NSPS, Control, and Hydrographic Surveys, Construction layout, and Level Circuits

Will work primarily in the field as an Instrument Man on a two person field crew

Ability to perform surveying calculations using Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD

Ability to perform physical labor (ie. Cutting and removal of brush, shallow digging with a shovel and other hand tools, using a hammer to drive stakes and rebar etc.

Ability to read and understand plans and specifications

Possess effective written and oral communication skills

Know, understand, and demonstrate safe working/operating methods of assigned tools and equipment

Maintain survey vehicle supply inventory and stock as necessary

Maintain overall survey supply inventory and inform Field Crew Manager of supply status

Perform survey equipment maintenance (charging batteries, plumbing rods, cleaning instruments,

Ability to setup, calibrate, and operate Trimble Total Stations and GNSS Equipment (S Series Total Stations and R Series GNSS receivers)

Ability to setup and operate Trimble data collectors (Trimble TSC3 and TSC7)

Possess working knowledge of survey and office software (GNSS, Trimble Business Center, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Word)

Responsible for completing the daily survey log for the crew

Continued efforts toward becoming a party chief and attaining the LSIT certification.

Must have ability to travel and be physically able to work long hours with a flexible schedule

Must be punctual and reliable

Reports directly to the Survey Crew Chief and/or Survey Field Crew Manager


Requirements:

High School Diploma with intent of continuing education

Prior surveying experience preferred, but not required

Candidate must have a valid driver's license
