Foreman Plumber - Commercial Refrigeration

FOREMAN PLUMBER (COMMERCIAL REFRIGERATION)

Our company is a well-established cold storage specialty General Contracting company with locations in Union City and Modesto. We specialize in commercial and industrial refrigeration construction and service projects.

As a growing construction/service company, we are seeking an experienced Foreman Plumber for immediate hire. This role requires a highly skilled leader with strong field experience in commercial/industrial plumbing, the ability to manage crews, and a commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency.

Position Summary

The Foreman Plumber is responsible for overseeing and coordinating plumbing installations on commercial refrigeration and cold storage projects. This includes managing field crews, ensuring work is completed on schedule, maintaining safety standards, and serving as the primary point of contact between the field and project management.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise plumbing crews on commercial refrigeration and cold storage projects
• Plan, layout, and oversee installation of plumbing systems including water supply, DWV, and venting systems
• Install and coordinate floor drains, trench drains, and condensate drain lines for refrigeration systems
• Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project plans to execute work accurately
• Coordinate plumbing installations with mechanical/refrigeration and other trades
• Perform and oversee pipe installation (PVC, copper, cast iron, stainless steel), including cutting, threading, and joining
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex plumbing and drainage issues in the field
• Ensure proper insulation, drainage, and freeze protection in cold storage environments
• Conduct system testing, inspections, and ensure all work meets code and company standards
• Maintain job site organization, cleanliness, and efficiency throughout all phases
• Enforce safety protocols and work closely with the Health & Safety Coordinator
• Communicate effectively with project managers, crews, and clients

Required Knowledge & Skills

• Minimum 10 years of plumbing experience, with strong commercial/industrial background
• Prior experience in a foreman or lead role required
• Experience with commercial refrigeration or cold storage projects preferred
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, methods, and tools
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents
• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
• Proven ability to manage crews and multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
• Professional attitude and strong work ethic

• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and lead a team
• Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in good working condition
• Valid driver’s license with a clean DMV record
• Ability to travel to various job sites
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work at heights, and in confined spaces
