Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory located on Long Island, New York, is presently seeking a Research Associate for an immediate position in preclinical imaging.
The laboratory’s Molecular Imaging shared resource is a collaborative facility within the Cancer Center that uses a variety of both established and experimental non-invasive imaging techniques to evaluate new cancer treatments and diagnostics, and to translate those findings to the clinic. Non-invasive imaging is a key component of this position.
Position Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and running the PET/CT and SPECT/CT scanners stationed within the Molecular Imaging core and conducting collaborative research projects with other investigators at CSHL. Proficiency in receiving and handling radioactive materials is a must. They will also have responsibility for maintaining and providing assisted use with a new EBRT (external beam radiotherapy) instrument, recently added to the core.

Experience
Position Requirements
- Minimum of 2–3 years of post-graduate experience
- Background in Medical Physics (preferred)
- Substantial experience in radionuclide imaging
- Experience operating preclinical PET/CT and SPECT/CT scanners
- Experience working with radiolabeled probes
- Experience with preclinical image-guided external beam radiotherapy (preferred)
- Proficiency with analytical computer programs
- Strong attention to detail and meticulous record-keeping
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively and productively in a team-oriented environment
Other: Work location will primarily be at CSHL Woodbury Genome Research Center.
