Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of commercial trucks with manual transmissions to deliver goods to multiple locations along assigned routes
- Load and unload within safety standards
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify mechanical issues and ensure roadworthiness
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, load sheets, and delivery documentation for each trip
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers to confirm delivery schedules and resolve any issues promptly
- Perform heavy lifting tasks during loading and unloading processes while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist with maintenance checks on trucks, and refrigeration units to keep vehicles in optimal condition and product fresh
- Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and dispatch
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with necessary endorsements for operating class A or class B vehicles
- Proven experience as a commercial driver or delivery driver with knowledge of heavy lifting techniques
- Mechanical knowledge to perform basic troubleshooting and vehicle inspections
- Hands-on experience operating manual transmission vehicles in various truck configurations
- Ability to load & unload cargo efficiently using appropriate equipment while maintaining safety standards
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record; familiarity with city or regional routes preferred
- Physical stamina for frequent heavy lifting and extended periods on the road
