The Maintenance Technician will complete assigned work orders and carry out repairs and/or assists work with contracted professionals to complete repairs. The Maintenance Technician also completes scheduled preventative maintenance of the facility and checks for any maintenance work needed. The Maintenance Technician will also support the Refrigeration Maintenance Technician as needed, as well as take on janitorial duties to ensure cleanliness and hygiene of our workplace.
Essential Duties Include:
- Be a team player with a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude.
- Maintain good housekeeping practices in the shop and equipment room.
- Perform repairs and maintenance to facility building.
- Using CMMS program to accurately complete Preventative Maintenance (PM’s), Corrective Maintenance (CM’s) and projects, including adding and removing inventory items.
- Timely reporting to Maintenance Manager of assigned task completion or assistance needed.
- Escort and coordinate contractors and vendors performing work on-site.
- Regular preventative maintenance checks, repair and adjust equipment such as dock equipment, gates, doors, etc.
- Learn and assist with basic repairs of pallet racks, sweepers, sprinkler systems, forklifts, pallet trucks, and electrical work in accordance with OSHA Standards.
- Maintain, repair, and replace motors and gearboxes.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by working with warehouse leadership to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
- Responsible for general facility maintenance including 5S, basic electric, air compressors, hydraulics.
- Perform Janitorial duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing in the facility as requested by management.
- Follow all Cold-Link Logistics safety policies, standard operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Cold-Link Logistics Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, technical or vocational training preferred.
- Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for current or future employer sponsorship.
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience with strong electrical and mechanical knowledge. Experience with PLC systems, industrial ammonia refrigeration systems, and electrical work involving low, single‑phase, and three‑phase voltages is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of maintenance inventory control, safety protocols, and warehouse operations.
- Ability to accurately perform basic math functions (add, subtract, multiply, divide) as required for maintenance and warehousing tasks.
- Must be comfortable working at heights up to 55 ft. and accessing elevated platforms or catwalks.
- Excellent time management, organization, and problem-solving skills for fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
- Strong communication skills to build relationships across departments and effectively lead or support teams.
- Demonstrates high integrity, a strong work ethic, and represents management with professionalism and discipline.
- Must be able to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
- Willingness to consistently follow and support all safety and quality policies and procedures.
- Ability to learn and apply Cold-Link Logistics Safety and Quality Standards effectively.
- A desire to learn more about ammonia refrigeration and assist with ammonia refrigeration maintenance preferred.

Physical Requirements:
- Core working hours are Monday to Friday but in rare emergency situations must be available for team support as needed during overtime hours and weekends.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform physically demanding tasks such as standing, walking, pushing, pulling, kneeling, crouching, climbing ladders/stairs, work on elevated surfaces and work in extreme temperatures and noise levels in a cold storage environment.
- Tolerance for high noise levels, dust, moving equipment, vibrations, and chemical vapors.
- Ability to use hands, fingers, and power tools to handle, manipulate, and repair parts and equipment.
- Ability to be in a multi-temperature warehouse environment with temperatures ranging from outside ambient to -20 degrees F. Cold-Link provides cold weather gear for staff members.
