Responsibilities
- Enforce applicable local, state, and federal laws
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls for service
- Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and document findings
- Prepare accurate written reports for incidents, arrests, and investigations
- Perform surveillance or monitoring duties when required
- Manage conflict situations using de-escalation and problem-solving techniques
- Provide first aid or CPR when necessary
- Participate in community policing activities and public outreach
- Assist with animal-related calls, including basic animal control tasks
- Support security and loss-prevention operations when assigned
- Maintain accurate records related to patrols, incidents, and casework
- Operate department vehicles safely and in accordance with policy
Requirements
- Ability to meet all applicable background, training, and licensing requirements
- Experience in law enforcement, investigations, security, military service, or related fields is beneficial
- Strong decision-making skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Professionalism and discretion when handling sensitive information or situations
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Familiarity with topics such as report writing, conflict management, security procedures, or animal-handling is helpful
