Job Title: Sheeter Operator, 2nd Shift

Schedule

Days: Monday - Friday
2nd shift: 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Overtime: As required

KEY JOB DESCRIPTION

Perform Sheeter make-readies, operate the Sheeter at optimum speeds to ensure productivity according to the production schedule. Operate powered industrial trucks including forklift, clamp truck, electric and manual walk-behind pallet jacks to transport roll and sheeted paperboard stock to and from machines. Perform routine preventative maintenance tasks on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis. Perform required quality checks in accordance with SOPs, including reading and completing job paperwork. Report any defects, non-conformances, and variances to appropriate personnel.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Transport roll stock to roll stand in sheeting area.
• Remove roll wrap & core end pieces from roll.
• Read sheeting schedule.
• Perform Sheeter make readies and operate Sheeter.
• Monitor & maintain Sheeter speeds to ensure optimum productivity.
• Grasp sheets of stock, re-pile and straighten loads as needed.
• Complete Sheeter order forms, mill/board forms, production reports, roll tickets.
• Use computer to input and access data, access network systems, print documents.
• Maintain records of roll stock inventory using hand held scanner and computer to place incoming rolls into inventory, locate rolls, allocate rolls and return allocated roll stock into inventory.
• Perform required quality checks in accordance with SOPs, including reading and completing job paperwork. Inspect stock for defects and to ensure job accuracy. Note defects/damage in writing.
• Monitor condition of equipment & report unsafe conditions and/or needed repairs.
• Operate fork lift, hand & clamp trucks.
• Perform daily, weekly & monthly routine & preventative maintenance on sheeting equipment.
• Transport stock from Sheeter and inventory.
• Be dependable, on time to work and at work consistently, regular and overtime hours and weekends.
• Develop teamwork and positive relationships with co-workers.
• Adhere to all Company rules, policies and procedures.
• Adhere to all Quality Assurance policies and procedures.
• Maintain acceptable level of productivity and meet established standards of conduct and work performance.

Additional job functions may be added as necessary

Non-essential Job Functions

• Move roll stock (to place older stock in front.)
• Operate Ream Cutter and Aerator when needed.
• Remove scrap sheets from Sheeter, Aerator, and Printing as needed. Band or shred for disposal.
• Remove trash to compactor.
• Assist in other areas of the plant as needed.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English
• Ability to perform basic mathematical computations including addition, subtraction, multiplication and calculate percentages
• Ability to operate computer to input and access data, network systems
• Ability to work overtime whenever necessary
• Organizational skills
• Ability to pass forklift operator skills test
• Experience operating Sheeter a plus
