Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Paralegal role based in Westport, CT. The Paralegal will support attorneys across various practice areas by drafting and preparing legal documents, organizing case files, and managing deadlines and court filings. Daily responsibilities include conducting legal and factual research, reviewing and summarizing documents, assisting with discovery, and coordinating with clients, courts, and opposing counsel. The role involves maintaining accurate case records, preparing materials for hearings and closings, and using legal practice management and document automation tools to support efficient case handling. The Paralegal will collaborate closely with attorneys and staff to ensure timely, high-quality client service.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess a solid foundation in Law and an understanding of civil litigation and transactional practice areas.
- Candidates should possess strong Legal Document Preparation skills, including drafting pleadings, contracts, correspondence, and closing documents.
- Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills for interacting with clients, courts, and internal team members, both in writing and orally.
- Candidates should possess strong Research skills, including legal research using online databases and factual investigation to support case strategy.
- Candidates should possess meticulous Document Review skills, including organizing, analyzing, and summarizing case materials and discovery.
- Paralegal certificate or relevant degree helpful; graduate interested in pursuing law school preferred.
