Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Direct and manage multiple quarry and asphalt distribution sites within the region
- Oversee production schedules, quality control, and maintenance programs to ensure continuous and cost-effective operations.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including MSHA and environmental requirements.
Financial & Business Management
- Develop and manage regional budgets, forecasts, and capital improvement plans.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-saving strategies to meet profitability goals.
- Identify and execute opportunities for growth, market expansion, and operational efficiency.
Sales & Customer Relations
- Support the regional sales team in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key customers.
- Monitor market trends, pricing strategies, and customer feedback to ensure competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with the commercial team to align production with customer demand and project timelines.
Safety & Compliance
- Champion a culture of safety, enforcing adherence to company and regulatory safety standards.
- Drive continuous improvement in safety performance across all sites.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor plant managers, supervisors, and other regional personnel.
- Conduct performance reviews and establish development plans, and direct reports.
- Promote employee engagement, retention, and a strong performance-driven culture.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Mining, or related field (required).
- Minimum 7-10 years of progressive leadership experience in aggregate, mining, construction materials, or related heavy industry.
- Demonstrated success managing multiple facilities or locations.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong operational and financial acumen.
- In-depth knowledge of aggregate production, logistics, and equipment.
- Proven leadership, communication, and team-building abilities.
- Ability to analyze data, solve problems, and make effective decisions.
- Proficient with ERP Systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and production management software.
Work Environment:
- Frequent travel between regional sites (up to 50% of the time). All drivable
- Periodic out-of-state travel for business meetings.
- Combination of office, plant, and field enviroments.
