Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Pipelayer to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing and repairing pipelines in various construction projects, including utility, plumbing, oil & gas, and pipeline systems. This role requires a strong understanding of heavy equipment operation and construction site safety protocols. The Pipelayer will work closely with project managers and other skilled trades to ensure the successful completion of pipeline installations while adhering to blueprint specifications and safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Lay and install pipelines according to blueprints, specifications, and safety standards
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to assist in trenching and pipeline placement
- Perform concrete finishing and concrete forming tasks as needed for pipeline supports or related structures
- Use pipe lasers and utility locating tools to ensure precise alignment and placement of pipes
- Weld pipe joints and perform plumbing connections where required
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and schematics for accurate installation
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following safety protocols at all times
- Assist with pipeline testing, inspections, and troubleshooting during installation phases
- Coordinate with other trades such as welding, concrete finishing, and heavy equipment operators to meet project deadlines
Skills
- Proven experience operating heavy equipment including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, forklifts, front loader trucks, and pipe lasers
- Strong knowledge of pipeline installation techniques in construction sites involving oil & gas or utility systems
- Ability to read blueprints accurately and interpret technical drawings for precise pipe placement
- Skilled in welding, concrete forming, plumbing, and concrete finishing processes
- Experience with utility locating tools to prevent damage to existing underground utilities
- Construction site experience with a focus on safety procedures and OSHA regulations
- Knowledge of construction materials related to pipeline projects and familiarity with construction tools and machinery
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
