We follow all the safety protocols and requirements to keep everyone safe on the job, and take them very seriously. We have continued to operate and provide cleaning and disinfecting services to our customers throughout the pandemic without incident.

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for properly disposing of hazardous material such as asbestos, lead, and mold. Collects and disposes material using special suits and equipment to minimize exposure to harmful chemicals and hazardous materials. Applicants must be able to pick up 50lbs by themselves.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Removes asbestos, mold and other hazardous materials from ceilings, and other structure.
  • Identify materials to dispose of, working with construction site manager.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, or PPE at all times
  • Use power tools to remove asbestos from walls or furniture.
  • Apply chemical compounds to lead-based paint
  • Shovels asbestos into plastic disposal bags and seals bags, using duct tape.
  • Research and train on proper removal of material such as lead, mercury, asbestos, lead-based paint, waste oil, fuel, transmission fluid, and contaminated soil.
  • Cleans work area of loose asbestos, using vacuum, broom, and dustpan.
  • Sprays chemical solution over asbestos covered surfaces, using tank with attached hose and nozzle, to soften asbestos.

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS

  • Will work in environments that have hazardous materials such as asbestos, mold and other hazardous materials.
  • This position will consistently work overtime and include nights and weekend work.
  • This position will work in a wide range of temperatures from cold to hot weather depending on environment.

OTHER DUTIES:

  • Maintain a high level of personal grooming and appearance.
  • Wear a clean, neat, and proper company uniform every day.
  • Meet company standards for attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the company.
  • Attend training meetings as required.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Asbestos Certification
  • Ability to recognize problems, and rectify them.
  • Makes recommendation to manager as to how to resolve customer complaints, or has ability to resolve the problem.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience required.
  • Driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Basic mathematics skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

This position is moderately physical. There is extensive walking, standing, stooping, and bending. Traveling to each location requires the safe operation of a vehicle. Ability to work with computer keyboard, monitor and mouse for extended periods of time. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds.
